Copetran was founded on September 22, 1942 and consolidated as Cooperativa Santandereana de Transportadores LTDA, Copetran. This was in response to the need for passenger and cargo transportation at that time.
Initially, it started with the transportation of cargo and passengers. As time went by, it positioned itself as a leading company in land transportation in Colombia, which led to the creation of additional services to the basic operation, such as Tourism; Express Courier; Money Orders, Agreements and Channels; Envelopes and Packages and Special Service.

● Doble Piso: On the first floor has ergonomic wide chairs, designed for a pleasant resting time and an individual entertainment device with music, movies, and series to enjoy during the trip. The second floor has an outstanding atmosphere with the best location to enjoy the Colombian landscapes. It has two restrooms, one for women and one for men, and 2 professionals at the wheel to solve any trouble.
● Preferencial de Lujo: Service that has reclinable seats to 135° with leg resters that will make your trip comfortable and extraordinary. It has 2 restrooms and 2 professionals at the wheel in the capacity to solve any inconvenience.
● Minipreferencial de Lujo: With a capacity of 30 passengers, it has reclinable chairs, air conditioning, onboard entertainment, and a professional at the wheel to solve any issue.

In case of desisting from traveling, the passenger must give timely notice at least three (3) hours prior to the scheduled date and time of travel, and shall be entitled to: i) the immediate change of schedule for one (1) time within the same mode, ii) the return of ninety percent (90%) of the amount paid or; iii) leave the ticket open at most one (1) opportunity to be scheduled within the term established in the contract.

Copetran does allow travel with domestic animals depending on seat availability (one per bus per day) and with a prior scheduling of at least 24 hours. Additionally, pets must be in their respective carriers, up to date on vaccinations, and should be small to medium-sized. This provision does not apply to guide or assistance dogs.
